It used to be that even people who didn’t want illegal aliens deported would make an exception for criminal illegal aliens, by which I mean illegals who have committed non-immigration offenses.
People might say something like this: “The undocumented aren’t criminals, they just want a better life for themselves. They shouldn’t be deported. Only violent criminals that are a danger to the public should be deported.”
True, there were some extreme activists who were against deporting criminals, but they were a minority. That was not yet the standard Democratic party viewpoint.
But now, another leftist paradigm shift may be in the works. Representative AOC and allies are demanding the Biden administration not to deport criminals. Isn’t that something?

The United States is not the only country dealing with immigration, multiculturalism, and leaders who can’t or won’t solve defend their nation.
In France, for example, the situation is so bad that a number of retired military personnel (including retired generals and other officers) have addressed an open letter to the government, warning of possible civil war in France.
Alarming, yes, but these problems are a threat to France, as they are to the U.S. and other Western countries.
