By statehood in 1907, all Indian reservations in Oklahoma were abolished. But the Supreme Court’s McGirt decision in 2020 declared that the Creek reservation is still, at least for criminal law purposes, a reservation. This was expanded to also refer to the Cherokee, Seminole, Choctaw, Chickasaw and Quapaw tribes, which are now also said to have reservations.
Now, a ruling from the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has it that three more reservations exist in Oklahoma.

Aside from all of the problems on our border and the long term economic, cultural and social issues caused by the ongoing illegal alien invasion, traveling across Mexico to get to the United States presents its own set of dangers for the migrants themselves.
An ongoing case involves a bus of migrants crossing Mexico which was recently hijacked and its passengers held for ransom.

On the morning of May 12, Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) held his usual morning press conference. It was a real tour de force, the main, recurring theme was the U.S. National Question as interpreted by the Mexican government.
AMLO, with sidekick Marcelo Ebrard, and some eager reporters, bashed Republicans
(including a sitting governor, a congressman and senator), boasted about Mexican-Americans being loyal to Mexico and discussed their refusal to take in large amounts of deportees from the United States.

Donors to the University of Oklahoma are waking up and noticing that the university (like many others) is going off the rails. And they are ending their donations, at least for now. Good for them, more donors need to do so, in many universities.

On May 6, Charles III was crowned King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms (including Canada, Australia and New Zealand). Due to the long reign of his late mother Elizabeth II, this was the first British coronation in 70 years.
Although we have been independent of Britain since the late 18th century, the cultural links are still very strong and many Americans are quite interested in the royal family. And the media provides plenty of coverage.

Last month I visited Spain with my two sons.
The plan was simple. We flew to Madrid, picked up a rental car, drove around the country, returned to Madrid, and flew back.
Spain is bigger than California so of course we didn’t see it all.
But we covered a lot of territory, from Andalusia in the south to the Basque Country in the north. We visited great cities and interesting towns. We passed through the rugged Spanish countryside: mountains, plains, fields, pastures and rivers.
When you write for VDARE. COM a vacation is never just a vacation. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the Big Picture.
Regarding Spain, there’s lot of history to consider.

On April 13, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta overturned a previous ruling delivered by a district judge in southern Florida which had, in turn, blocked portions of a Florida law banning “sanctuary cities” in the state.

Some who support the removal of Confederate statues say the Confederates were traitors and/or losers.
But now in San Jose, California, they took down the statue of a man who fought for the United States, on the winning side.
