On July 11th, 2015, Mexican drug baron Joaquin “el Chapo” Guzman escaped from prison in a mile-long tunnel specially constructed for his escape.
The question is, where is Chapo now? With his vast wealth and extensive connections, Chapo could be anywhere.
The DEA thinks Chapo is back in his home state of Sinaloa. And it just might be true.

This is potentially very good news. Donald Trump has done a great job shaking up the establishment and showing how a candidate can speak courageously. But sometimes it seems as though he’s making it up as he goes along, and some of his comments on immigration have been counterproductive.
Now the news is out that Trump is consulting with Alabama’s senator Jeff Sessions, also known as “America’s Senator”, and in September Trump is planning to release some policy papers on immigration. Let’s hope that Trump announces support for a halt in legal, and not just illegal, immigration.

Poor Jeb. Jeb thinks that he can be the “Hispanic Candidate”. But among Hispanic Republicans, Jeb is trailing Donald Trump!
Jeb thinks his support for Puerto Rican statehood, and Puerto Rican bankruptcy relief are going to win him votes.
But in Iowa, it’s not working. It doesn’t look like such positions are gaining support among likely Iowa Republican caucus voters.

America needs a shutdown of legal immigration. And the way to accomplish that is to cut off the issuance of “green cards”.
Green cards, by the way, are no longer green, except for the strip on the back reading “Permanent Resident Card”, with some green lettering above that (“United States of America” and “Department of Homeland Security”) and below it “The person identified by this card is authorized to work and reside in the U.S.”. Plus there is some green lettering and an arrow at the bottom of that side. But, by custom, it is still called a green card.
For many, a shutdown on legal immigration is a taboo subject. But Julia Hahn takes it up in a Breitbart article.

Some rich donors are hedging their bets by contributing to both Jeb Bush (“Republican”) and Hillary Clinton (“Democrat”).
That must indicate that they think there wouldn’t be that much difference between a Jeb Presidency and a Hillary Presidency. And maybe they’re right.
On immigration there doesn’t seem to be that big a difference.

Legal immigration should be shut down, or at least drastically reduced, but none of the congressional leaders of the Republican Party want to reduce it.
In fact, congressional GOP leaders want to increase legal immigration, even though it’s bad for American workers and hurts the Republican Party.

Regarding Donald Trump in the GOP primaries, columnist Ruben Navarrette, Jr., says that the candidate could win the Republican Hispanic Vote.
Note that Navarrette is discussing the Republican primaries, not the general election.

I recently returned fron a trip to Mexico. and found some articles in the Mexican media which relate to the mass immigration of Mexicans to the United States.
Years ago, it was the Mexican media which helped me to become a writer on immigration, when I saw how it was viewed from south of the border.
The news items encountered this summer relate to crime and race in Mexico.

It’s been great watching Donald Trump take on the GOP elite and show that a Republican can be a real fighter and not just another Republi-coward.
Trump has pointed out the very real link between crime and illegal immigration, has promised to build a wall on the border, and has decried the power of donors over the GOP. And he’s sent the Republican establishment into a tailspin. All that has been great, and very fun to watch.
But you also get the impression that Trump is making it up as he goes along. And some of his immigration comments have been disturbing, for example, saying that he wants to make legal immigration easier. No, Donald, we need to shut down legal immigration.
And what about illegal alien amnesty? Is Trump for some form of it? We don’t need an amnesty under any form, as it will just encourage more illegal immigration. We don’t owe illegals anything.
