The war against the Washington Redskins team name continues, though the majority of American Indians are not offended by it. On May 22nd, half of our senators sent a letter to the NFL about this issue. They can’t balance the budget but they have time for this?
Now the opponents of the team’s name have found a sneaky way to advance to their goal of forcing the name to go.

Many a city worldwide has its famous downtown square, or plaza. Such a plaza is an essential part of a city’s history and identity. Consequently, it is a major draw for tourists.
Mexico City’s principal plaza, called the Zocalo, fills such a role and is the heart of that great metropolis.
The Zocalo and the surrounding area is where Mexico City began, in 1325, and for the past (almost) 700 years, through all the changes of government, it has been the heart of Mexico City.

A porous border, besides being a security threat, an economic threat, a political threat and a cultural threat, is also a health threat. That should be obvious.
An Arizona TV station recently ran an informative video about the health threat on the border, specifically the Texas border.

In the midst of the ongoing Republican hysteria over the ever-elusive Hispanic vote, an important discovery has been made by the Media Research Center and the Heritage Foundation.
These organizations have discovered that—get ready for this—the U.S. Hispanic media is liberal!
Who would have thought that?
After all, we’re often told that Hispanics are naturally conservative and would vote for the GOP if the GOP would surrender on illegal immigration.
So why are U.S. Hispanic media outlets Univision and Telemundo liberal?

We’re in an election year, and if you’d like to see how the candidates from your state are looking immigration-wise, Numbers USA has some useful information with which you can compare the candidates’ positions (or as nearly as they can be ascertained, they can be rather slippery).
Numbers USA also provides links to the politicians’ own websites, so you can even attempt to contact them. Why not give it a try?
I know it’s hard to pin down both challengers and incumbents. But we’ve got to keep trying. Even if candidates don’t listen, election time is a time to educate the public.

The National Football League’s Washington Redskins team is under attack over the mascot name “Redskins”.
Earlier this week, fifty U.S. senators wrote a letter to the NFL commissioner asking him to force the Redskins´ owner Daniel Snyder to change their name. Think about it, these guys can’t balance the federal budget and they’re spending time trying to coerce a football team into changing its name?
But the Redskins haven’t buckled under yet. And Redskins President Bruce Allen wrote a letter to the Senate Majority Leader, addressing him as “the Honorable [sic] Senator Harry Reid”. The letter lists several reasons that the Redskins name is acceptable.

It’s high time for an immigration shutdown. And by that I mean a shutdown of legal immigration. Illegal immigration should have been shut down yesterday, that goes without saying. But if there is any hope to save the historical American nation, a legal immigration shutdown is needed.
Can we convince our fellow Americans of this? We’d better.
