Who do you tax, how do you tax, which sectors are to be taxed? Is taxation merely a form of government revenue collection or is it also to be used as a method of social engineering? At what point does taxation become counter-productive?

On October 28th, George Soros, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, the Chamber of Commerce and other supporters of an illegal alien amnesty are planning a fly-in to Capitol Hill. The plan is for 300 “conservative” activists to influence the House to support amnesty for ilegal aliens. Among the group are evangelical Christians who support amnesty.

In the recent government “shutdown” the Obama administration shut down open-air monuments in Washington, D.C., even seeking to keep veterans out. On the other hand, illegal aliens and their supporters were permitted to hold a rally on the National Mall in D.C. to promote amnesty. Not only were they allowed to do so, but the rally was supported by the National Park Service, that is, the American taxpayer.
Judging by audience participation, the biggest draw at the rally was a concert by the band Los Tigres del Norte, a group of which I have written before. What is the significance of the Tigres and their phenomenon?

The over-the-top arrogance and chutzpah of the illegal alien movement is astounding when you think about it. Illegal aliens break our laws for years, then the most vocal of them (and of course their supporters in the media and political realm) demand more and more, making ordinary taxpaying Americans out to be the bad guys for not giving them all they want.

Hispanics, we have been assured again and again by the spokesmen of Conservatism Inc., are limited government natural conservatives who would flock to the Republican Party if only Republicans would support amnesty.
But the reality is that Hispanics are flocking to Obamacare. They may just tip the scales to bring about its irreversible establishment.

Mexico-watcher George W. Grayson, professor at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, has authored a “backgrounder” article recently published by the Center for immigration Studies. It’s entitled “Remittances Abet Mexican Officials´ Irresponsible Behavior”.
Dr. Grayson’s article points out the vested interests of Mexican governors and other officials in having Mexicans north of the border sending back remittance money. Mexican governors may disagree on various topics, but there’s one topic on which they can all agree. You can count on them to support any sort of loosening of immigration law north of the border.
