Pope Francis visited Mexico and, among other things held a mass on the U.S.-Mexican border.
After departing Mexico, on the plane the Pope was asked about, and commented upon, Donald Trump’s campaign proposals. How valid was the Pope’s statement?

George Clooney Encourages Invasion of Germany. But Clooney’s Own Italian Property is Another Matter.
American actor/activist George Clooney has a net worth of 250 million dollars. That’s more than most of us will ever have, I suspect.
Recently, Clooney and wife Amal paid a visit to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, where they encouraged her to continue facilitating the invasion of Germany. Breitbart reports that Clooney “told reporters that he ‘absolutely’ agrees with Merkel’s handling of the crisis and her acceptance of many migrants into the country.”
But when it comes to Clooney’s own property in Italy, it’s a completely different story.

Willis Carrier invented the modern air conditioning system, and founded the Carrier company, now part of United Technologies. Its factory in Indianapolis, Indiana manufactures residential and commercial furnaces and air handlers.
It has now been decided to shut down the Indianapolis plant (and distribution center) and move both to Monterrey, Mexico. This would affect 1,400 workers.
A brief video films the moment in which company president Chris Nelson announces to the workers that the plant is being relocated.
That announcement was on February 10th. On February 13th, Donald Trump mentioned the Carrier decision in the GOP debate.

The day after Ted Cruz won the Iowa caucuses, La Opinión, the biggest Spanish-language newspaper in the U.S., published an article advancing the point of view that Ted Cruz is not a real Latino.
That of course leads to further questions. What is a Latino? Is it a racial, a cultural or a political classification? And who decides?

A Mexican NGO called the Consejo Ciudadano para la Seguridad Pública y Justicia Penal, A.C. (Citizen Council for Public Security and Penal Justice) released a list of the world’s 50 cities with the highest homicide rates in 2015.
In order to be on the list, the city must have at least 300,000 inhabitants. The ranking is based on homicide rates calculated per 100,000 inhabitants. (Cities in war zones are not included in the ranking.)
Of the 50 most murderous cities, 41 are in Latin America, with five being in Mexico.
Brazil is the country with the most cities on the list, with 21.
As for the U.S.A., it had four cities on the list.

Candidate Rick Santorum, who had some good immigration proposals, has dropped out of the race. That’s understandable, and I appreciate the good work he did.
However, why did Santorum choose to endorse Marco Rubio, a very untrustworthy candidate on the issue of immigration?
