Senator Enrique Inzunza Cazarez is one of the Sinaloa Ten indicted by a U.S. federal court for collusion with the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
In an article on May 20th, 2026, I reported that Senator Inzunza had been detained by U.S. authorities. [See Senator, Inzunza Detained; 3 of the Sinaloa Ten Now in U.S. Custody].
I would like to apologize to my readers and correct that report. In fact, Senator Inzunza was not detained by U.S. authorities and is still in the Mexican Senate. I should have done better research and followed up better.
