The Mexican election of 2024, held on June 2nd, 2024, was won by Claudia Sheinbaum of the MORENA party. She is scheduled to assume the presidency on the 1st of October, as Mexico’s first woman president and Mexico’s first Jewish president.
And it wasn’t just a presidential election.
It was also an election for the entire Mexican Congress. All 128 seats in the Senado and all 500 seats in the Cámara de Diputados were at stake.
The mayorship of Mexico City was decided, as were 8 state governorships.
There were elections for state legislatures and local governments.
Across Mexico there were more than 20,000 official posts up for grabs on June 2nd, with 70,000 candidates competing for them.

Mexico has a presidential election every six years. The U.S.A. has a presidential election every four years.
Therefore, every 12 years, Mexico and the U.S. have elections the same year. This year, 2024, is one of those years.
Since both Mexico and the U.S. have a presidential election this year, it is interesting to compare and contrast elections in the two countries.

The Darien Gap, a jungle in Panama, is a major link along the invasion route that leads from South America into Central America, and eventually to the U.S.
On May the 5, Cinco de Mayo in Spanish, Panama held its presidential election. Jose Raul Mulino won the election and is scheduled to take office July 1st.
One of Mulino’s campaign pledges was to close the Darien Gap.

Oklahoma’s Republican Governor Kevin Stitt just signed HB 4156, criminalizing illegal immigration as “impermissible occupation.” This law allows Oklahoma to remove and even imprison illegal aliens.
But simultaneously, Gov. Stitt set up a task force to promote amnesty and more foreign labor in the state of Oklahoma.
You can see the contradiction on Stitt’s gubernatorial website in a document entitled, “Governor Stitt Signs Bill to Defend Oklahomans from Biden’s Open Border Policies, Launches Task Force to Find Legal Pathways for Workers.”
