On March 31st, 2014, Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, a U.S. Marine vet/reservist, accidentally drove into Mexico with three weapons and ammunition.  Tahmooressi was arrested and jailed.

As an American who resided many years in Mexico, I believe that Americans should respect the laws of Mexico.  However, I think that Mexican authorities ought to be able to recognize a simple mistake for what it is.   After all, Tahmooressi’s small arsenal was tiny compared to that of a Mexican narco.

Furthermore, it’s rather hypocritical for Mexico to treat Tahmooressi like this while simultaneously demanding amnesty for millions of illegal alien Mexicans in the United States.

Anyway, after a seven-month imprisonment, Andrew Tahmooressi has been released from prison in Mexico and is now back stateside.  Welcome back, and I hope you get  the help you need.
