On February 16, Senator Ted Cruz, in a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, made some comments about Mexico.

Cruz spoke about the border, about the murders of journalists and politicians in Mexico, and shared his view that Mexican President AMLO was making the situation worse.

These are all legitimate issues for a U.S. senator to discuss, certainly more relevant to our country than the Russia-Ukraine conflict. 

But in Mexico, the Cruz comments ruffled some feathers and made Cruz a target of from high-ranking critics, including President AMLO himself.
