Many Americans these days retire in Mexico. And they like it. There are some great places to live in Mexico.

However, there are two questions we should ask about it:

  1. What economic reasons in the United States are encouraging Americans to retire in Mexico? Shouldn’t these issues be dealt with?
  2. When these Americans retire to Mexico, what effect does it have on their children and grandchildren back in the United States? Shouldn’t this be considered?

Of course, where one retires is, or might be (depending on the money) a personal choice. And I understand why some people retire in Mexico. But I still think these are questions worthy of consideration.
